This study examines the role of conflict management strategies in enhancing &#13;
organizational effectiveness within the context of ethical leadership inspired by &#13;
the legacy of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere. Focusing on public and private sector &#13;
institutions in Chake Chake-Pemba, Zanzibar, the research explores how &#13;
selected conflict resolution approaches, namely competing, collaborating, &#13;
compromising, avoiding, and accommodating, align with ethical governance &#13;
principles and influence institutional performance. Employing a cross-sectional &#13;
survey design, data were collected from 160 purposively selected employees &#13;
using structured questionnaires. Analysis was conducted through descriptive &#13;
statistics and multiple linear regression, facilitated by SPSS. The findings reveal &#13;
that competing and collaborating strategies significantly improve organizational &#13;
outcomes, reflecting Nyerere’s emphasis on principled dialogue, accountability, &#13;
and &#13;
shared &#13;
leadership. &#13;
Conversely, &#13;
compromising, &#13;
avoiding, &#13;
and &#13;
accommodating approaches showed limited or weak influence on &#13;
organizational effectiveness, suggesting the need for more proactive and &#13;
ethical engagement in resolving disputes. Correlation analysis further confirmed &#13;
strong positive associations for competing and collaborating strategies, while &#13;
avoiding and accommodating displayed minimal relational strength. Grounded &#13;
in Nyerere’s ethical framework, the study recommends the institutionalization &#13;
of participatory decision-making processes, team collaboration, and formal &#13;
conflict mediation training to build leadership capacities that foster sustainable &#13;
organizational development. These strategies, reflective of Nyerere’s vision for &#13;
harmonious and people-centred governance, are essential for cultivating &#13;
conflict-resilient organizations in Zanzibar and beyond.

This study aimed to assess the socio and psychological impacts of internet use &#13;
among youth in Tanzania. It examined the extent of internet use, socio effects, &#13;
and psychological effects on this group. Data were collected from 88 respondents &#13;
in the Kinondoni Municipal area using a convergent parallel design. The study &#13;
found that while the internet and technology are important, they can become &#13;
problematic when they replace human interaction. Online risks such as addiction, &#13;
cyberbullying, and sexual solicitation were associated with negative consequences &#13;
for youth. Furthermore, the study revealed an increase in psychological effects &#13;
among youth due to internet usage. To address these findings, it is recommended &#13;
that youth understand both the negative and positive effects of the internet. &#13;
Parents should take steps to protect their children, utilizing technology to block &#13;
access to inappropriate content. However, it is crucial for parents to supplement &#13;
these measures with active supervision and guidance. By promoting awareness &#13;
and responsible internet use, stakeholders can address the socio and psychological &#13;
impacts of internet use among youth in Tanzania.

This paper examines the factors influencing the sustainability and failure of rural &#13;
health initiatives by conducting a literature review and administering &#13;
questionnaires in the regions of Mwanza and Simiyu. The study identifies key &#13;
factors responsible for the initiation, sustainability, and failure of such initiatives. &#13;
Relationships between these factors and the data obtained from the questionnaires &#13;
are analyzed and discussed. The findings from this analysis will be utilized in the &#13;
development of a planning tool to aid in the planning and prediction of the &#13;
sustainability or failure of health initiatives, particularly in rural areas of Tanzania.
